Stream media to PSP via PC

I have had a psp 3000 for a while now and been used to stream music to it using RSS feeds (quite a few tutorials available if you look it up). But frankly it was quite a pain. Stumbled across this bit of software that has made life easy.

Things you will need:

1. A homebrew enabled psp (any one, with any firmware)
2. PimpStreamer available at pimpware.org
3. A wi-fi modem/router to stream your media.
4. The downside here is, in case you try to play an unsupported media format, the program will freeze and you will most probably have to restart. So all the chick-HEN enabled users, beware.
For starters, mp4 is a format which is not supported.

Procedure:

1. Connect your psp to you pc via the mini usb cable.

2. Start installing pimpstreamer. The installer is pretty straight forward, so no instructions/pics. Do note that it will also install a few files on your psp, which are completely safe.

3. Start PimpStreamer. and check the option which says framerate/2.

4. In the image above select the folder you wish to stream, in the Media Path area.

Your set-up is done.

Now disconnect your psp and start it up.

Under games, select the UMD. You will see three new icons. One purple, one corrupt and one green. Select the one in green.

Once started, its quite self explanatory. You can browse your shared folders as normal.

Do Note:
- Use X to start content. Use Triangle to exit.
- You can stream most image formats, mp3's and avi files. At least of what i have tried.
- You need to have PimpStreamer started on your PC to share your files.
- If you choose a unsupported media type, the app will hand and you will most probably have to restart. Beware chickHEN users.
For starters, mp4 is not supported.

I will post a video tutorial only if necessary. Comments are much appreciated.

Scrobble tracks from Mediamonkey to Last.fm

 ------------------------UPDATED BELOW-----------------------------

I've been trying to integrate Last FM and MM for a while. Most of the time i just bored and leave it be. Just managed to do it so here it is.
What you will need:
1. The latest MM from the site. (from download.com)
2. The latest Last FM (Last.fm)

Installing it:
Please do not start MM, till the entire procedure is done.

1. Install Last FM as usual. Follow all the steps till the end.
2. Once installed it will ask you choose the Media Players for which you want the scrobbler to be installed.

2. When you reach the screen below you need to select add instead of checking any of the other checkboxes.

3. On clicking add you will be presented with a dialogue box as below. Select Winamp from the list and locate the MM exe file and say Ok. (Default is C:/Program Files/MediaMonkey/MediaMonkey.exe) Click Next. The plugin, will now install on its own.

4. To check if the plug-in is installed right go to the MM plugins folder (Default - C:\Program Files\MediaMonkey\Plugins) You should see the file below. Please note it should read "gen_xxxxx" not "ml_xxxxx".
Your now done.

5. Start Mediamonkey. Goto Tools -> Options --> Last.fm Service. You should see the window below. Enter your Last fm account details and say Apply. Your done!

6. Now on the MM home screen and check the Last FM button as indicated. As far as i know Red is "Not Scrobbling", Yellow is "Cashing only" and Green is "Scrobbling normally".

For any queries please feel free to post comments.

-----------------UPDATE-------------------------------
Please note that in many machines especially after the latest 3.1 MM release the above procedure does not work.

Please follow these steps to install the scrobbler.

1. Download the Lastfm plugin from Here.
2. Save this file anywhere you please, open Mediamonkey and install.
3. Restart Media monkey and go back to step 5 on the main tutorial.

If you are using older versions of MM please refer to this page
Once you use this plug-in, there is no need to install the lastfm program.
